Rank Sinatra ‘chairman of the bored’ -  v/vm – CD – baa baa jewel boxaa

/Opens with a somewhat popstyled version of ‘eternal flame’ (that is compared to the one you can find on RS’s split with Jan AG on BurningEmptiness Inc. –you also got on this CD another alternate version, including more than fifteen minutes worth of NOISE over the song in repeat mode, sort of bonus track I guess as it isn’t on the sleeve’s tracklist and much less pop this time!) The whole record consists of overdistorted and beaten-to-death-or-till-your-ears-bleed pop covers, including the BEST song from Christina Aguilera, actually the original song is still a piece’o’crap&shit-in-a-shiny-leather-tartsuit but the cover featured here is just, aaaahhh, wonderful, like a made-to-measure stain of zombie puke near one of the po(rn)pstar’s face piercings. Special mention to ‘never tear us’; featuring Null Object and a lot of ring modulator, vibrato, feedback and distortion (don’t forget the distortion).

Renato Rinaldi ‘the time and the room’-public eyesore-CDR- cardboard envelope and a fine photograph (& some think it’s lame)(but they’re stupid)

/Nice (seemingly) improvised (for sure) instrumental (new style name) post-rocking jazzobient. Somewhere in between guitars, sax, prepared instruments floats this originally-recorded-for-the-radio record. Long and original enough to get in the mood of it, short and restrained enough to keep you in the mood of it.

Retch/The Mustang Project/Sylvester Staline ‘3 way split’ - full of shitz/los discos de la bestia - CD - FUCK JEWEL BOXES IS THAT CLEAR?

/’you are sleeping, you do not want to believe’ opens the record, spoken in an eerie voice by some old vinyl lady (or some old lady on some old vinyl, I’m not sure). I’m not sure either about what you’d like to believe while listening to this but I’m quite sure you won’t be sleeping. Simple, efficient and superfast grindcore for all three bands: a little death metal touch for Retch, a punk/HC one for The Mustang Project, pure grind for Sylvester Staline. All sprinkled with hilarious movie samples including Death Race 2000, no song over the fatal 1’30 limit, whole record under 20 minutes, the ‘if you want a good sound, listen to another band’ statement: you got a must have for me, kids.

Rigodon#1-the hunting lodge/anima mal nata-A5 zine

/A very nice little noise zine, looking surprisingly ‘finished’ for a first issue. Great interviews in there –especially liked Monobrain (good) and Dead Husbands (very good), a quite fantastic little piece by Mr Hal Mc Gee called ‘close the doors of the noise school and burn it to the ground’ (I share every word of it, even the clumsy and not exactly what I think ones –because they’re what words are for: encouraging open discussion), nice drawings and overall a nice graphical layout. Two things, though: please use another font and please make fine reviews of good records instead of fine reviews of average-to-bad ones?.
